1st SANGAM FESTIVAL, A CONFLUENCE OF DANCE was organised by Art Vision on the 5th September 2005, "guru diwas", as a homage to all the gurus who have inspired us. In this Festival two styles of dance come together on the same platform with creative and innovative choreographies. While Odissi is a constant factor the other style of dance varies every year. The Art Vision performing unit presented four items: "Shivastakam:, a group choreography in honor of Lord Shiva, a "Pallavi" in Kolavati raga, "Ganga-Yamuna", a duet depicting the confluence of the two rivers and "Dasa Mahavidya" on the ten incarnations of the Goddess.
The guest group was the Mahagami dance troupe from Aurangabad directed by . Parvati Dutta who presented "Rangakruti" and "Laya-Yatra" depicting technical virtuosity in Kathak style.
